| | I struggled to get up and going this morning. I could really use 12 hours of sleep every night. I ran to the East track and ran 10 continuous hill loops on the paved driveway back of the stadium. I ran to Sugarhouse and back to my house to finish. | Add Comment |
| | I am with my family this weekend in Sundance so I got to run down Provo Canyon! My siblings and nieces and nephews rode bikes down the trail from Vivian Park to the gas station so I ran. It was later in the day so it was hot but not too bad. By the fountain, about 3 miles down, I saw a small dirt trail going up so I followed that and found a gravel road at the top that goes for quite a ways. I only ran a mile on it but am so happy I found a trail to run! I also biked 6 miles with my cousin. | Add Comment |
| | Long run. I started a mile up South Fork and ran down the canyon, got on Carterville to the flag fence and ended at Will's. My mom bike with me the whole way. I averaged 7:21 and felt pretty good. My legs aren't dead but my body is just overall tired. | Add Comment |
| | Hill week day 1. 2 mile warm up then we ran hills on the state course. We started with 3 of the hill on the road right after the start going up, rest then back down. Then we did 4 of the hills by the pond and then 4 of the state hill. It was weird running hills again and I really need it but not too bad. I finished at 10 and later ran 4 more. | Add Comment |
| | Puke Hill- if this trail wasn't so gorgeous to run I would hate it so much. I tried to stay with Tomy, Chris and Clayton as long as I could.. like the first half... We ran 6 out then back. I was a goner on the way back. My whole body was so tired by the end but I am glad I did it. I think. | Add Comment |
| | AM ran the switchbacks at Pipeline. My legs aren't sore but my hips and glutes hurt SO BAD!! I am not sure if it is allergies or a cold, but I felt super congested and couldn't breathe. I was pretty tired too. PM I ran 5 more with Tomy. | Add Comment |
| | Death Hill today. The worst and hardest part of hill week. This year, I froze a water bottle to have at the hill which helped so much! I ran out 4 on the trail then on the way back did 10 repeats. I was so tired after finishing but happy I did it. PM I ran another 4 miles after babysitting. | Add Comment |
| | Hills at the region course to finish hill week. Surprisingly, my legs felt pretty good all week but today they were tired. We ran Bessie, the hill by triple trunk tree, Miranda, roller coaster and finished on Bessie again. I was so tired and was more congested today. I finished at 10 miles. | Add Comment |
| | My cousin got married this weekend in St. George so I got an adventure run this morning. I was really tired and just took it easy. I am so happy I finished 75 this week!! | Add Comment |
| | AM workout at Liberty Park. I got about 2 miles warm up and strides. We ran a mile and 2x800. The craziest thing happened. I started running, and my legs did not feel like a ton of bricks. They felt good. I was seriously SO happy. It has been so long since I have felt like that in a workout. I wasn't running super fast, but I am recovering better from miles and I have needed that. I ran my mile in 5:41 and the 800's were 2:41 and 2:35. PM I ran 4 miles on my own. | Add Comment |

AM I didn't get much sleep last night, so I just did 8 miles in the morning. I was tired and took it slow.
PM I ran another 4 and felt really good. | Add Comment |
| | I really hate running tempos by myself. But I decided I probably should. I ran up to the zoo then started my tempo on Wasatch Drive. I ran to the flagpole, then along Foothill to the cemetery and home. Whenever I tempo by myself, I run the same pace- 6:56. I felt ok- way tired by the end and had a slow cool down. | Add Comment |

| | Long run in Provo! I ran with some of the BYU girls. We ran hobo loop backwards and then I added more. I felt fine, just tired. And now as I am seeing my total for the week, I am one mile ahead. Darn- I could have saved myself 8 minutes earlier this week. | Add Comment |
| | AM- Workout at Liberty Park. Usual 1 lap warm up and 10 strides. We ran 2x mile and then an 800. The first repeat I almost fell flat on my face (it was a miracle I recovered and kept rule #1 'stay on your feet') My first mile was 5:44, the second was 5:36. My 800 was 2:36. Tomy and I ran a 4 mile cool down. My legs were pretty tired.
PM- ran another 5

| | It feels oh so glorious to finish a long week with only 8 miles! I did a happy dance after my workout. This morning was the threshold. It was freezing cold when we started. We ran about 2.5 warm up before starting. I had 2 goals for the camp threshold this year- stick with the lead group and average 6 flat pace. Fortunately, we actually started at the right place and it was 2.9 miles long. We eased into it which helped. My first mile was 6:10 and then the lead group started to pull away. There were 6 of us in a group all pushing- the second mile was 6 flat. One girl dropped before the finish, but 5 of us finished in a line with a time of 17:24 and average 6 flat. Score. It felt amazing to have girls to push with and work with. I really hope we can keep that up this season- it will make a world of difference.

| | AM- tempo run! Again- my goal was to run with the lead group of girls. We ran it at Jeremy Ranch. We started nice and slow and ran a 2 mile warm up before starting the 5 mile tempo. The tempo felt good- My legs felt awesome but I was breathing hard. The hills got me every time. Again, we had a great group. 7 of us finished in a perfect line with a time of 32:39 ( aroun 6:30 average) It felt a lot better to push with a group of girls. I was going to run more cooldown, but stomach was hurting so I just did 2 miles.
PM- 4 miles on the trail.

| | AM- I didn't want to get out of bed this morning. My hips are really sore and my legs so tired. We ran along this awesome dirt trail ending in Wanship. It was really pretty and we had a nice recovery. It has been really hard to get more than 8 each morning and I will have to double a lot this week.
PM After a nap, I ran another 4. Legs as dead as ever. And it was hot. I am really tired. But, the sophomore skit won skit night! Score.

| | AM: Last day of camp- Ran 8 miles on the same trail (shocker) I felt a little better this morning. I can't believe XC camp is already over and we start in with school and practices next week! I am excited for the races I am doing and how our team is running together more. I am excited that it is finally cross season!
PM: Ran my usual 4 mile loop and added 1 more mile running laps at the East track

| | Last run in Salt Lake for a while. I ran up to the Red Butte drinking fountain, added some on the road to the chainlink fence then ran across to JCC and cut to 11th Ave and home Shriners way. I started later so it was hot and I was pretty tired again.

| | Usual Carterville long run. We really need to find a loop longer than 10.5 for our long runs now. I warmed up fine and felt pretty good. Another 75 down!
