Today was incredible. We ran 40 minute tempo. Starting out, I felt awesome and knew it would be a good workout. 20 minutes in, I finally picked up the pace and started moving. There was a group of 4 of us who split off and were pushing sub 6 pace the last half. I didn't even hurt until the last 4 minutes and when it hit, it hit hard. We finished with an average of 6:29 and all feeling amazing about how we did. It has been forever since I have felt that good in a workout or long run/tempo! I even got to finish all my miles before weights.

4 mile A.M. run before going to watch the high school BYU invite! I had to run the workout on my own in Salt Lake in the afternoon. The workout was 1200 at 77 pace, 2x800 at 75 pace and 3x400 at 72. My 1200 splits were 77,79, 78 for a 3:54. My first 800 was a 2:31 and the second 2:34. And the 400 was 72, 73, 74. Not a great workout. It was hard to run by myself and I am just happy to get it done.

A.M. run with Laura before the meet. It was almost like death. My legs were really tired and it felt so long.

2 mile warm up then we ran one mile at 5K pace. I just followed Nikki and Linds and we ran 5:13. I felt ok- just tight. Finished miles and no weights this week.

First night in New Jersey! We didn't get here until late. We drove to the track by Princeton and ran our miles on a paved trail around campus.

Well it wasn't the best way to end the season but that's just how it went. I ran a 1.5 mile warm up and did usual pre race routine. There were 28 girls in the race and it was dang hot and humid when we ran. The first mile, I just told myself to be patient and run with the group. And it felt hard to hang with the group. There were some stupid rookie mistakes but I guess you race for experience. There was not a clock at the 200 (where the 5K started) so I couldn't follow my splits as well as Mt. Sac. Coach was right by the crowd and every other coach and I only heard him about 3 times the whole race. I was in the back of the main pack when the first group split and that was the group I should've been with. With 6 laps, I knew I was off pace and just quit looking at the clock and focused on racing. I caught and passed 3 girls and caught up to my teammate and another girl. I sat with them for 600 and when they didn't pick it up, I moved. I ran the last 1000 alone and the next girl 50 meters ahead. It sucked to be by myself but I managed to catch the girl right at the line. I was mad about this race but it was good experience. I had too much left the last laps to try and make up ground. I am always stronger than I think and I should've moved up further and group and stuck in the beginning of the race. It really sucks to end the season with a bad race but I am just hoping to do better next time around.

We found an awesome dirt trail by the river for our run. It was hot and sticky and my legs were so dead.

Recovery day. A group of us went to the first park up Provo Canyon and ran on the trail. It was really hot so we only did 6 before weights. Later, I ran another 6.

Ran a new run today! The Hobo loop. We ran from Seven Peaks to the Provo cemetery then came across the bridge by the mall and back on University. I ran 4 mile campus later as well. My legs are still tired.

Ran 3 miles cool down with the boys after the 3200 then Sus and I ran short Carterville in the rain. It felt good to push with her and we talked the entire time.
