AM I accidentally brought two left shoes to practice. Great. I ran with Tomy and we started from my house and ran cemetery run for 10. PM I ran 4 more to Tanner Park.

This week is incredibly hot to be running so Tomy and I decided to try and beat the heat by running at 3 A.M. It was still hot. But at least we didn't have to watch for cars and had a good run. We started at Highland and ran to Wasatch Drive, down Sunnyside and back along 1500 E. and add one lap at Sugarhouse. I was really tired running in the middle of the night but it was awesome!

I was babysitting all morning and didn't get to run before it got hot. So I ran to Steiner and ran on the treadmill for 8 miles and ran back home. It was hot. And I am still tired from the 3 A.M. run.

I didn't want to race this week so I met with Tomy for a run. We started at my house and ran Shriners, down 11th Ave and City Creek. I really need to get more sleep because I am so tired running every day.

I was thinking on yesterday's run how unfortunate it is to run UP City Creek. And cursed myself. We ran from Liberty up City Creek and back. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought. I ran 9 then added 4.5 later that night.

Last run of the week before vacation. I ran along Wasatch and Foothill Drive. I was really tired and just wanted to be done. Now I can enjoy Lake Powell!

I had planned to run yesterday, but our boat broke and we got home at 4 A.M. this morning. I ran from my house up Emigration 5 miles and back. The worst part was the feeling that the ground was rocking back and forth the whole run. But  I had a blast at Powell and enjoyed the short break.

Today's run was one of those worst case run scenarios come to pass. I ran 5 miles with the earlier group then we ran cemetery run. My legs were really tired and heavy so I decided not to do the lap in the cemetery and head back. Right then my nose started bleeding. Correction, gushing. I had to lay down for about 15 minutes until it stopped. And my clean, white tank looked like I had been stabbed. Oh well. I didn't die and it was adventure.

Wheeler Farm this morning. We did usual 2 mile warm up loop then 8 strides on the grass. We ran a fartlek workout: 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 on and 1 and 2 minutes recovery between. I haven't run fartlek in such a long time. It saved me that Chris ran with me and I had someone to push with. I was really tired by the end but happy I actually got a workout in. I was going to run again tonight but missed my window before the rainstorm set in.

Pipeline today. I was pretty tired from yesterday and didn't push way hard. Later I ran another 4 miles.  I stretched and rolled to try and help my dead legs

I don't know if my massage on Tuesday got me or what but today was pretty bad. I ran with Laura and she just kept me going. Again, my legs were so dead. I was so tired and struggled just to keep running. I just did 7 and took a nap later. Tonight I ran 4 more. I felt a little better but something if off. I stretched and rolled and hopefully tomorrow will be better.

40 minute tempo to end the week. I ran a 2 mile warm up loop by my house then ran out to Cottonwood Complex and 1300 E. and back. I averaged 6:50 and my legs were really tired by the end.

New run today! We started at Sugarhouse and ran along 21st, up 13th to Mike's tennis drinking fountain. Then we ran along Wasatch to the flagpole and back down to the park.

What a morning! I was up by 3:30 and at the start line by 4:30. Great. I sat and talked with Laura and Emily for an hour. Then I ran .5 warm up, stretched and did a few strides. I started out right with the lead girls. My first mile was 5:25 and the next 3 were around 5:40. It was faster than I was expecting to run but I wanted to keep contact as long as I could. Just past the 4 mile mark, I got gapped and was by myself for the next 9 miles. I felt very focused and fine until I turned onto Foothill Drive. I used to think it was downhill, but it definitely was not. I had slowed down and was fighting just to keep a good pace going. I finally made it to South Temple and just tried to keep it low 6's. My legs were really tired and dead and it felt really long. It helped turning onto the parade route but it felt like the longest finish of my life. I am happy with how I did. A little disappointed I couldn't hang on longer but I did what I could. The gu at mile 4 and 8 helped me so I didn't crash as bad the last 5K as I did in my last half. But I got my goal of running under 1:20! I ran 2 miles at the race with Tomy and another 2.5 at home.

I couldn't get out of bed today. I knew it would be rough as soon as I woke up and EVERYTHING hurt! I was in for a loooong run so I took my I pod to keep me entertained. I ran to the cemetery on 500 S. and did 2 laps then to Sugarhouse and a lap around. I averaged 9:30 pace. And that was hurting. My calves aren't too bad but my quads absolutely kill. I stretched, rolled and iced for 20 minutes.

I ran with Tomy today. We ran to Cottonwood Complex, attempted 8 strides and back. It really helped to run with someone when I really just wanted to walk. My quads are SO tight and really hurt but my average was only 8:30! Big improvement since yesterday.

I met Tomy at the Jordan River trail on 5300 S. Still super sore but today I was more exhausted and drained. I thought the 13 miles of pain was enough but it decided to carry over a few more days. Stretched and rolled again.

Today was a real improvement from last weekend. Saturday night I slept from midnight to 1 PM on Sunday only waking up once. I felt much better running this week. We ran cemetery and I finished with 10 averaging 7:24. It was the first run in a while I could open up and run a good pace. PM I ran 4 more at Liberty Park.

AM- I was late to practice so I got 10 strides in before the workout. We ran 400, 3x800 and 400 on the dirt loop. I ran with Sarah Sargent. We ran 82 for the 400's and the 800's were 2:53, 2:57, 2:55. It felt really weird running intervals again. My quads are still tight and sore but I can actually move them now. I ran 4 miles cool down. PM I ran 4 more after babysitting.

I ran to the zoo trail to meet the team (2.5 miles) We ran across shoreline to Red Butte and up to the fence. It is a lot shorter than I remembered. My legs don't feel like a ton a bricks like they usually do, but my body is just overall tired. And I am out of shape on hills. I ran 6 on the trail then added a mile. PM Tomy and I ran 6 more to Shriners and back.
