This race was really fun! I didn't think I would ever get to race the 1500 so I was excited to run it. I went in with the attitude of enjoying the race and not dreading or being mad at how I do. It was a small meet and I was in the fastest heat with 8 other girls. As soon as we started, I dropped to the rail and ran on the INSIDE of lane 1. There was a pack, gap then 1 girl and me. I stuck behind the girl until the 800 when I passed her. She passed me with 500 to go and I sat on her until 300 when I kicked. I finished 8th overall and felt pretty good. It was really fun to run something so short and faster. The best part was coming around the first lap and the lap counter showed only 3 laps left! (instead of 12). I did a lot of miles cool down but we found a nice paved trail by the river. |
