It was a rough, awful day. But I am working on learning and moving forward. I felt groggy and tired today. We raced in the middle of the afternoon which felt weird to my body and I didn't sleep too well last night. I got a great start. It was a big race so I got out quick and to the rail to run my pace. I was in great position through the first mile but as the pack was moving and keeping pace, I couldn't match. My body could not kick into the next gear to go with them and then I was by myself and just trying to finish. I wanted to stop so bad because I felt like I was running backwards (and I was). I was mad and sad when I finished and saw my time. I am so inconsistent in racing the 5K. After thinking and talking about it, I don't regret coming to race. At least it was somewhat of a workout and I needed to work through the hard stuff. I feel like I don't have the speed to run a real fast 5K righ now and that's ok. Onto the 10K.
