I was dreading the 15K- last year I got really bad blisters and it snowed a lot. We ran a mile warm up and it was super windy. I got out and stuck with Tomy. We ran our first mile around 5:57 and made it our goal to run 6 minute pace. I made it my goal to stick on Tomy as long as I could. It made a HUGE difference running with him. I dropped my sweatshirt at mile 3 at the water station. The first half went by pretty quick, but as soon as we turned the wind was horrible. the next few miles were really hard running against the wind. Our pace slowed, but we caught and passed one guy. At mile 7 we started picking it up, and mile 8 really pushing to just get it over with. I finished one second behind Tomy. This race felt better than the 10K and my pace was an average of 6:03. I was really happy about my time, and I had less than a mile cooldown! (opposite of 2 weeks ago....) My time was almost 7 minutes faster than last year.
