First 5k of a new XC season! We had a lot of people from the team run this race, and it was fun to cheer everyone. I ran a 2.5 mile warm up and made it to the line just in time. I ran the first mile with Scott, then the second mile with Taylor. I passed Taylor just before the 2 mile and was with Tomy along Vine Street. Somehow, Taylor managed to catch me again along Vine Street so I had to match and push with him. As we came to the finish, I kicked hard and beat Taylor by 4 seconds. My time was 19:00 even. I don't know if the mile markers were correct, but my first mile was 6:00, second mile 6:10, and third mile was 6:11. I was glad I ran with the boys so I could push myself. This was a fun race, and I am so excited for the XC season!

If you only knew how much I hate being beat by girls. But then again, you heard me during the kids race, always trying to get the girls to out kick the boys and loving it when they did. Good job today, things are going to get tougher this next month, but it will make your season that much sweeter.
