I would like to call this little run a good workout for the 10K. (which is what coach wanted it to be). It was perfect weather all day until it was time to warm up. Then the wind picked up, a lot, the clouds rolled in and it began sprinkling. We started before the lightning hit and off for a "fun" race. Coach told us not to worry about time but to just race. There were 8 girls in the race and I got to the rail and was in 4th. The top 3 took off attempting to run a qualifying time and I sat back. My legs did not feel good- still nice and heavy and tired from the last race. This meant I ran by myself for all 12 laps but "had fun", right? I could hear coaches from Gonzaga talking to their athlete who was right behind me so that helped me stay on my toes and go. I managed to catch the 3rd place girl by the 200 of the last lap and finished 3rd. As soon as we finished, it began pouring rain and the meet was delayed. It was a time I am not proud of the time but I did get out and run like coach asked me to. I ran 4 miles cool down in the rain before dinner with my family
